School Council London Trip

Our School Council had a fantastic day in London to learn more about how British democracy works.

We took the train to London St Pancras and made our way by tube to Westminster. We entered the Palace of Westminster and met our tour guide who explained how the Houses of Parliament worked. We were able to go inside the House of Lords (the red house) and ended the tour in Westminster Hall (which is nearly 1000 years old). Here we met our MP and had a picture on the famous steps. We left the Palace of Westminster and had lunch in Parliament Square in front of Big Ben. We ended the day with a walk along the River Thames taking in the sights before catching our train back to Sheffield.
